Society is living, and if it fits you comfortably enough - you call it freedom.
For those who don’t feel comfortable or free, is society dead?
“It’s alive! I’ve created a monster!”
Many of us are familiar with the scenes of a bewildered scientist, (Victor Frankenstein). As he repents for making a mistake...his own creation?
This irony speaks a lot to the resentment that society today has for its own reflection. Many people are not free in their realities and get blamed for being “outcasts”. The underlying truth that many of us forget; Is that Frankenstein was actually the scientist and not the monster.
Resurrection in a social context speaks to old ways being interpreted as new. The resurrection of culture, values, morals, religion and society as a whole.
Johannesburg is home to one of the most inter-sectional communities in the world. There are so many cultures/subcultures and discourses that we as youth are surrounded by.
Today we’ve taken the leading role in resurrecting many of these ideas through art and through music. Through our fashion and through the media and our movements.
On the 28th of September Cerebral S3 will be a celebration and a call for all to resurrect this society.
