The Jaguar Simola Hillclimb is the premier motorsport event in South Africa - having become the "must attend" event on the motoring calendar.
Attracting sports stars, celebrities, the country's top drivers and cars, and thousands of engaged and passionate fans, there is something for everyone - men, women, and children.
The race format for the 2019 Jaguar Simola Hillclimb, held in the beautiful Garden Route town of Knysna, remains largely unchanged from the highly successful 2018 event. The adrenaline-fueled extended weekend’s track action starts off with the intriguing and emotive Classic Car Friday, comprising a dazzling array of 64 iconic cars and drivers of all eras competing for the prized Classic Conqueror Trophy.
On Saturday and Sunday, the big guns come out to play, and fans can look forward to seeing everything from showroom-specification sedans and sports cars to elite supercars, virtually priceless pure-bred race cars and purpose-built Hillclimb beasts being pushed to the limit on the Simola Hill’s challenging 1.9 km course.
A maximum of 84 competitors will be vying for the King of the Hill titles in the three available categories: Road-going Saloon Cars and Supercars; Modified Saloon Cars; and Single Seater and Sports Cars.
With rapidly growing interest from abroad, it’s expected that an even larger contingent of overseas competitors will be joining the fray when the flag drops on the start line, adding to the allure of this truly exceptional automotive extravaganza.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES
TOWN DISPLAY AND PARADE:
Preceding the track action, fans can get up close and personal with the race cars and competitors. Join the excitement in Hedge Street, Central Knysna from early morning to shortly after lunchtime when the Classic Car Friday competitors exhibit their cars on Thursday, followed by the King of the Hill competitors on Friday. The displays are followed by the car parades which take the competitors down Waterfront Drive, towards the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb Venue, on Old Cape Road. The increasingly popular parades see the streets of Knysna lined with fans enjoying the sights and sounds of the spectacular machinery. There is no entry fee to visit these activities.
KNYSNA SPEED FESTIVAL GOLF DAY:
The Knysna Speed Festival Golf Day will be the Speed Festival’s charity fundraising event with all proceeds being donated to charity. It will comprise a mix of competitors, sponsors and sponsors’ guests, local businessmen, media and others enjoying a round of golf on the Simola Golf Course. This event will provide sponsors with the perfect opportunity to network with potential clients in a relaxed (or perhaps not so relaxed!) and informal environment.
