For all those who know us and appreciate what we stand for\, WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We know that this is a crazy and challenging tim e for so many\, and we wouldn’t be asking if we weren’t desperate but we need to do everything we can to help our staff\, our team\, OUR FAMILY.
Despite every effort possible\, we\, like so many other businesses had to close our doors last month. Not only stores at Black Riv er Park\, Masons Press and Lotus Food truck but also our new store at The Old Castle Brewery which was set to open mid March and had to be put on ho ld. As you can imagine the resources and funds it takes to open a new rest aurant\, this crisis and closure could not have come at a worse time for u s. We have been exhausting all options for negotiating rental discounts\, deferring on our personal loans and completely cutting our own salaries\, but it still is not enough to pay our 30 + staff at the end of this month. We have applied for UIF relief but cannot guarantee what portion or when this will be paid out.
Some of our staff have been with u s since the very beginning\, learning and growing with us\, working beside us for long hours and dedicating themselves to what we stand for. They ar e the backbone of our business and we couldn’t do what we do without the m.
Many of them are breadwinners for entire families and not having an income is a reality we cant let happen.
We have create d this event in the name of them. We are asking those who may be in the po sition to support by either making a donation our purchasing a voucher to be redeemed at one of The Mill & Press stores\; these will be valid for 1 year.
Full Transparency - 100% of all donations will go our staff\, and 60 % of all vouchers purchased (40% will be retained to cover food cos ts associated with each voucher redeemed).
We know we can get through this together by supporting small business and looking after our family any way we can. We look forward to the day when we have buzzing restaurants and food truck once again\, but for now we thank you for your generosity and support.
