PLETT POLO FESTIVAL
Once a year on the 29th December the well-heeled and finely dressed gather at the magnificent Kurland estate, for the polo event of the year when our boys from Plett go into battle against the opposing ‘Rest of SA’ team in an 18 Goal match that is sure to thrill!
The Plett Polo Festival is a wonderful family day out with something on offer for everyone. Whether you are enjoying yourself in a picnic spot or are viewing the match for one of the VIP boxes, the thrill of watching highly trained polo ponies galloping across the field is endless.
This year we have introduced an array of new spectator facilities:
For Everyone: A newly positioned food and retail park.
On the Pavilion deck: Newstead Bubbly bars, three bars, two Chill Zones and commentary and DJ for the day to keep you following the game! With an After Party Tent awaiting your enjoyment – Headlining THE KIFFNESS!
The East Bank: Food trucks and a 15m long dedicated East bank bar, Newstead Bubbly trolley’s, Picnic spots, commentary and DJ firing across the field for the day to keep you following the game.
The day will end with an exciting collection of live music and DJ’s at the after party – Headlining THE KIFFNESS!

This year you can pre-order your food for your box. There are a few delicious options! Please note this is an additional cost to your box, no food is included in your box, unless pre-ordered. Pre-order your food for your box with Tessa.

The event has a circular traffic flow with 2 entrances, one entrance for VIP Box Holders and one for all other tickets, all routes merge and lead to one exit from the venue.
VIP BOX HOLDERS TRAFFIC FLOW – ONLY VIP BOX HOLDERS, SPONSORS AND PLAYERS
ONLY VIP Box Holders will be allowed in at the main Kurland entrance off the N2. They enter an accelerated lane into the main traffic flow and travel directly to the Pavilion. To exit the venue, they will follow the main traffic flow out of the venue.
ALL OTHER TICKET HOLDERS (includes on the day sales) – PAVILION TICKET, EAST BANK & AFTER PARTY
Entrance is off the N2, just before Kurland, onto a dirt road that leads to the back gate. This traffic flow will take you to “drive-thru” lane system.
- PRE-PURCHASED ONLINE:
If you have purchased online, keep in the right lanes and have your tickets ready for scanning. The lanes will take you to a toll gate where you will get your bar code scanned and receive your relevant arm bands. From this point, you will be guided back into the main traffic flow and either park for the Pavilion or East Bank.
- ON THE DAY SALES:
If you are planning to buy at the gate on the day, keep to the far-left lane. This lane will take you to a large temporary parking area, where you can alight your vehicle and walk to the ticket stations. All tickets (if not sold out) are available on the day. Once you have purchased your ticket you will receive your arm bands. From there you can continue in your car where you will be guided back into the traffic flow to park for the Pavilion or East Bank.
There is one exit, all vehicles (including shuttles and taxis) must follow the traffic flow and EXIT signs out of the venue and back onto the N2.
HOWLER CASHLESS SYSTEM
We will be using the howler cashless system again this year. When purchasing your tickets online you can pre-load your event card with credit for spending on the day. Cards can be purchased and loaded on the day from the various stations situated across the venue. Cash and card are accepted at the loading stations.
Several ‘top up’ stations will be strategically positioned across the venue to make your experience smooth and effortless. The pavilion will also have two ‘mobile credit card top up people’ to assist you whilst in your VIP box.
This card system is designed to speed up transaction times and therefore queue times at the food court and bars will be minimized. Simply tap your card to make a purchase.
NO CASH ACCEPTED BY ANY FOOD VENDOR OR BAR – ONLY THE HOWLER CARD WILL BE ACCEPTED
RETAIL PARK – CLOTHING & OTHER RETAIL ITEMS CAN BE PURCHASED WITH YOUR CARD. PLEASE NOTE THAT FOOD & BEVERAGE ARE ALL ON HOWLER, NO CASH OR CARDS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Access to the Retail Park is open to all ticket holders, East Bank ticket holders must approach via the parking area.
