Sketch With Streetlight is a series of online classes that a re a collaboration between Streetlight Schools and three esteemed South African ar tists. They are a way to engage with art for adults (16+) and for families with children through the unique lens of each artist and to disconnect fr om the challenging times we live in.
Session 1 features Rebecca Haysom\, a practising artist who has worked across drawing\, painting\, collage & s culpture. A background in literature and art\, wide range of interests and personal experiences have come together to inspire the Drawing wi th Mindfulness course that she teaches today. Rebecca is relocating to Prince Albert to set up an artists' retreat.
Observing the parallels btw meditation and drawing\, this class teaches drawing thru the lens of mindfulness. Drawing is an activity that can sti ll the mind\, reduce stress and improve focus. These classes offer explora tions into meaningful ways of seeing and appreciating the world around us\ , regardless of the result on paper.
