Mushroom and port\, chicken curry\, mexican meatball\, water blommetjie or biltong and blue cheese – these are just a few of the soup s being served at this year’s Breedekloof Soetes & Soup festival\, takin g place on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 July.
This excitin g event\, hosted at the various wineries in the Rawsonville\, Slanghoek\, Goudini\, and Breede River areas\, will serve you complimentary cups of st eaming homemade country soup accompanied by a glass of red or dessert wine s. Soetes & Soup is a showcase of the Breedekloof’s finest wines and he arty homemade soups\, once again proving why this valley is fast becoming known as “South Africa’s most generous wine route”.
What to expect:
The festival extends across the Br eedekloof Wine Valley and each of the participating wineries will be showc asing their award-winning red and dessert wines as well as offering a vari ety of entertainment. Highlighting their generous country hospitality\, th ey’ll present a complimentary cup of homemade country soup and some enti cing pairings. Don’t miss the shiraz ice cream or the cupcake and wine pairing at Kirabo\, the Chocolate soup and Port tasting at Bergsig\, or th e Ramkiekie Farmer’s Market at Mountain Ridge. Besides all the home-mad e country soups\, there will also be a range of heartier fare such as comf orting pancakes\, burgers\, roosterkoeke\, vetkoeke and more. This year t he festival is also including a range of Premium Wine Events\, av ailable by bookings only\, with limited space.
