This announcement comes with extreme disappointment and frustra tion.
The Fa shionClubbers team were notified that our event at The Lawns can no longer take place.
The reason: SANParks (South African National Parks) have issued written n otice to The Lawns\, of legal intent to cancel their lease agreement betwe en SANParks and the venue if this event takes place. In their contract\, i t stipulates that no amplified sound is allowed on the venue.
This comes as a massive surprise to our team\, as up until today\, we had no knowledge of this and were led to believe that there would be no problems down the line regardi ng amplified sound at the venue. This is the first we had heard of this. W e as a team\, had gone through every necessary step in terms of compliance \, and have ticked all boxes with regards event permits / licenses / noise exemptions / land use applications / medical and safety plan / public lia bility etc. We have written consent from The Lawns stating that they appro ved of the Fashion Clubbers event happening on 23/03/2019.
We are all heavily invested with time and money in this brand. We had every intention to put on a goo d show for you all. This was out of our hands and totally unforeseen. Had we known this was the case\, we would have never moved forward\, wasting y our time\, as well as our own.
We have been offered alternative venues\, which we decl ined as we feel that providing you with an alternative product two days be fore the event is unacceptable.
We realise that this news will leave you disappointed\, and no do ubt will damage our brand. Our reputation and brand is something we take p ride in protecting\, and we will do what it takes to bounce back.
We thank the people who continuously support us and those who purchased tickets to The Hideout \, you will be fully reimbursed by next week.
