From absolute beginners to advanced Sewists looking to brush up on their technique, this weekend long workshop covers it!
This workshop seeks to demystify sewing and make cosplayers more comfortable with sewing and needlework.
This workshop is the first of many Gauteng Cosplay Workshops!
Boost your sewing skills or learn something completely new and improve your cosplays through this two day sewing and cosplay workshop.
- Day 1: Technique and step-by-step demonstrations of sewing techniques from basic seams to adding fullness and setting zips!
- Day 2: Cosplay and Convention advice that covers emergency repairs at conventions and competing in Cosplay Comps.
Attendees are in for a wonderful time with knowledgable instructors, jam-packed goodie bags and an amazing venue with many secrets to offer!
Please note that Attendees are required to bring their own:
- Sewing Machine*, adapter(if necessary),
- spare machine needles,
- handsewing needles,
- sewing thread,
- bobbins.
- Scissors/rotary cutters and mat
- snips/small scissors
- *If you do not have your own machine, there will be limited number of machine rental tickets for shared machines.
We want to build a community that shares knowledge and where people don't feel scared to try new things and ask for help!

*Please note that parking is limited so we encourage you to carpool or Uber.*
*Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic and especially in light of the 5th wave, masks are required and must be worn at all times except when eating. If you are showing any symptoms of Covid-19, we are allowed to ask for proof of negative test or vaccine status.*
