The 45th Oktoberfest at the Deutsche Internationale Schule Pretoria is based on the original Oktoberfest in München, Germany and is thus the first and most authentic beer festival in South Africa that has stood the test of time.
We invite you to join our school, the German community and over ten thousand guests as we celebrate German “Gemütlichkeit” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gemütlichkeit) under African skies.
You will be entertained in our main tent by our Oompah band "Innkreis Buam" who are travelling to South Africa all the way from Europe. In keeping with our African roots, we also have a lineup of musicians including “4AM”, "Maeztro" and “The Morning After Band”.
There will be a variety of beers to choose from that will satisfy even the most critical of beer connoisseur’s palate. In addition, there will be other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages on offer.
Germany’s food culture will also be on full display at the Oktoberfest with highlights such as Eisbein, Kassler, Bockwurst, Brezel and many other options. There will be a variety of souvenirs including traditional hats and “funtastic” T-shirts. No Oktoberfest can be complete without taking home a Lebkuchenherz or three.
There will be a number of entertainment options for old and young alike including games, carnival rides and other fun activities.
In the spirit of our national energy crisis, we are having a raffle that includes an inverter as first prize and in total over R100,000 in prizes.
There is ample secure parking which will allow easy access to the festival and Uber and Bolt will have added presence as well on the days allowing you to enjoy the Oktoberfest whilst keeping safe.
We would be delighted in hosting you at the 45th Oktoberfest. See you soon.
