A festival is an event ordinarily celebrated by a community and centering on some characteristic aspect of that community and its religion or cultures. Festivals often serve to fulfill specific communal purposes, in this regard the Annual Diepsloot Festival will serve a purpose of unifying entrepreneurs and artists in the community. It is important in that it will bring back the feel of talent locally in the community because the focus is now on mass-based entertainment.
The Diepsloot Festival is a fundraising event for non-profitable organizations in and around the community of Diepsloot and serves also as a social market event for small businesses in Diepsloot and surrounding areas.
In 2024 DiepFest is happening on Saturday 25 May 2024 at 8am to 4pm at Sarafinah Park Diepsloot Ext 8, King Senzagakhona Road.
