We are raising money to purchase essential food, toiletry and stationery items to make up into parcels for the children and their families that are most in need this festive season.

Help4Nam is a registered charity in both the UK and Namibia. Our main focus is on reducing poverty and hunger by providing emergency food and toiletry parcels to households with young children living in deprived areas of Okahandja, Rehoboth and Windhoek. We are women-led and are solely powered by our network of volunteers in Namibia. Our main income stream is from Corporate sponsorship and donations received directly from the public. The charity was established during the Covid19 pandemic by 3 Namibian expat women living in the UK and we are now working towards establishing a community food bank. This Festive Season Campaign is to help fund the following activities over the 2023/2024 Festive Season:
- Christmas is not a festive period for everyone- with many children going without food (let alone presents). We would like to spread some festive cheer and increase our Christmas food parcel distribution cycle to 100 parcels.
- Last year we hosted a Christmas party for 60 children at the Katutura Hospital, Windhoek. Santa came to visit the children and handed out a gift box of toiletry items, a treat and a small toy to each of the children. All the children on the ward are very sick -many of them are abandoned at the hospital and some cannot be discharged due to either the poverty situations at home or they are orphaned. With your help, we would love to be able to host a party for them again this year.
- Our beneficiaries have expressed how stressful and worrying it is to have to provide the stationery for the children at the start of the school year in January -a time of the year when they are already out of pocket. We cannot help everyone but we would like to relieve this financial burden on some households by providing the basic stationery needs of the Grade 1 pupils starting school this January 2024. We would like to provide 1,000 learners with a stationery pack consisting of the basics on the stationery lists provided by the schools (excluding non stationery items such as copy paper, note books, cleaning products etc).
