YES OF COURSE! While Schulbasar is probably best known for its beer, it is actually a family event. All our classes, from Kindergarten to Grade 11, run their own activities. We have over 60 different stands (food, drinks, games and activities) which cater for the WHOLE family. Children under the age of 12 get in for FREE!

For the safety and enjoyment of all guests, the following items are not permitted at the event: weapons of any kind, including firearms, knives, pepper spray, or dangerous objects, illegal substances or drugs, hubbly bubbly / hookahs, vapes, and related smoking devices, alcohol not purchased at the event, glass bottles or containers, camping chairs, gazebos, umbrellas, or any picnic setups, cooler boxes, large bags, or picnic baskets, fireworks, flares, lasers, or explosives, open flames, braais or gas equipment, drones or remote-controlled aircraft, professional sound systems or large speakers, any item deemed unsafe or disruptive by event security.

Event organisers reserve the right to refuse entry or remove prohibited items from the venue. Thank you for helping us create a safe and enjoyable event for everyone.

No pets allowed. Registered service animals accompanying guests with disabilities are welcome.

To ensure smooth traffic flow and the safety of all guests, please take note of the following parking arrangements for general access: Parking is available at John Orr Technical High School a flat rate of R50 per vehicle. Parking hours are from 08:30 - 20:00. A shuttle to and from the John Orr traffic circle to the Schulbasar is included.

Parking is also available at Milpark Hospital at the hospital’s standard

hourly parking rate - Access via Guild Road

No parking will be available at the Scouts Hall in 2026.

Please follow all directions from traffic officials, security personnel, and parking attendants. Parking is at the owner’s own risk. Event organisers accept no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to vehicles or belongings.
