16–18 October 2026 | Kromdraai Impact Hub, Cradle of Humankind, South Africa
One Humanity. One Earth. One Future.
From the place where some of humanity’s earliest ancestors once walked, we gather to remember what connects us.
Our Origin Festival is a three-day gathering of music, ceremony, Indigenous wisdom, science, healing, creativity, nature and regenerative action, taking place in the extraordinary landscape of the Cradle of Humankind.
More than a festival, Our Origin is an invitation to reconnect — with ourselves, with one another and with the living Earth.
The South African gathering is an anchor for ORIGIN, a global movement bringing together Indigenous Elders and knowledge holders, artists, scientists, healers, young people, families, regenerative practitioners, entrepreneurs and communities around a shared question: What kind of future becomes possible when we remember that we belong to one another and to the Earth?
Across three days, expect extraordinary live music, ceremony, meaningful conversations, nature-based experiences, spaces for healing, children's programming, ecological action and opportunities to meet people working towards a more regenerative world.
For our Weekend Pass holders and camping and glamping guests, Friday is an opportunity to arrive on the land, settle in and begin the journey together.
As the sun sets over the Cradle, the festival opens with our Conscious Party Night — bringing together music, movement, fireside connection and community beneath the African sky.
It is a chance to meet fellow festival-goers, reconnect with old friends, make new ones and ground yourself before Saturday's main gathering.
Saturday is the heart of Our Origin Festival — a full day of music, culture, ceremony, creativity, conversation and collective action.
The live music programme brings together some of South Africa's most distinctive voices, including:
🎶 TRESOR
🎶 Bongeziwe Mabandla
🎶 Buhlebendalo
🎶 Tubatsi Mpho Moloi
🎶 Sibusile Xaba
…and more.
Music is woven throughout the day alongside drumming circles, performance art, storytelling, ceremony, food, nature, workshops, conversations and spaces to simply connect.
Our Origin also creates a meeting place between generations and ways of knowing.
Indigenous Elders and knowledge holders form an important part of the gathering, sharing prayer, story, ceremony and ancestral knowledge. Participating voices include Rre Pharologanyo Easter Tlatsana, Batswana Elder and custodian, Ouma Katrina Esau, a revered South African language activist and cultural custodian whose lifelong work has helped preserve and revitalise N|uu, one of Southern Africa’s oldest Indigenous languages, and Paul Jrumpinjinbah McLeod, Yuin Aboriginal Elder and healer, alongside other Elders, wisdom keepers and members of the wider ORIGIN community.
Their presence reminds us that regeneration is not only about restoring landscapes. It is also about restoring relationship, memory, culture and responsibility.
Throughout the festival, the Healing Village offers a space to slow down, breathe, restore and reconnect.
Step away from the energy of the main festival and enter a more intimate environment dedicated to wellbeing, reflection and integration.
The village brings together healing and wellness practitioners offering a range of restorative experiences and practices supporting the body, mind, heart and spirit.
Whether you come for a moment of stillness, a restorative practice, a meaningful conversation or simply somewhere to pause between performances, the Healing Village invites you to experience another rhythm within the festival.
Some individual healing and wellness experiences may require separate booking or payment, with details available at the festival.
Children aged 12 and under enter Our Origin Festival FREE.
Our Origin is intentionally designed as an intergenerational gathering, because the future we are imagining belongs to our children too.
The Kids' Village is a dedicated creative and nature-based space where children can explore, make, play and learn.
Through experiences such as nature-based arts and crafts, storytelling, Indigenous games, music and movement, sensory play, environmental learning and hands-on creative activities, children are invited into their own experience of the festival.
Our vision is simple:
The Kids' Village is a place where children can create, play, wonder and remember that they belong to the Earth. Through art, nature, story and community, we invite the next generation to experience regeneration not as a lesson, but as a way of being.
Parents and caregivers can experience Our Origin knowing that children aren't simply an add-on to the gathering — they are part of it.
Our Origin invites us not only to talk about regeneration, but to participate in it.
Through Seed the Dream, festival-goers will have an opportunity to plant into the landscape as a living gesture of care, hope and responsibility for future generations.
It is a simple act carrying a much larger intention: what we plant today can become shade, nourishment, habitat and possibility for those who come after us.
Between the music and celebration, Our Origin creates space for conversations exploring some of the defining questions of our time.
Expect intergenerational dialogues and contributions from Indigenous knowledge holders, regenerative practitioners, scientists, community leaders, creatives, young people and systems changemakers exploring our relationships with land, culture, health, community and the future.
Rather than separating ecological, social and human wellbeing, Our Origin asks us to see them as interconnected.
Regeneration begins with relationship.
On Saturday evening, the gathering at the Cradle of Humankind will connect with communities participating in ORIGIN around the world.
At 9:00 PM South Africa time, we will enter the Global Moment of Unity — a synchronized moment connecting people across cultures, countries and continents through shared intention, prayer and music.
The moment will include a Prayer for Mother Earth led by Indigenous Elders, followed by music carrying the gathering into a shared expression of unity.
For a moment, people separated by geography will be invited to pause together and remember something simple but profound:
We share one home.
Sunday morning invites us to move from inspiration into integration.
Join us for a special Morning of Applied Science with Zach Bush MD, exploring the relationships between human health, soil, food systems, ecology and planetary wellbeing.
After a weekend grounded in ancestral wisdom, culture, ceremony and relationship, Sunday creates a space to engage with science and ask how these understandings can be applied to the way we live, grow food, build communities and care for the Earth.
It reflects one of the deeper intentions of ORIGIN: creating spaces where ancestral wisdom and contemporary knowledge can meet rather than compete.
The weekend then moves towards closing and integration — giving us an opportunity to reflect on what we have experienced, the relationships we have formed and what we choose to carry forward beyond the festival.
Our Origin can be experienced as a Saturday day festival or as an immersive three-day weekend.
For those wanting to stay with us throughout the gathering, a range of Weekend Pass, camping and glamping experiences are available.

🎟️ Weekend Festival Pass — full Friday–Sunday festival access without accommodation
⛺ BYO Camping — bring your own tent and camp within the festival community

Our Origin is a gathering for generations.
Children aged 12 and under receive FREE festival entry, making it easier for families to experience the gathering together.
From the Kids' Village to music, nature, food, planting and cultural experiences, there is space for children to encounter the festival in ways designed for curiosity, creativity and connection.
While the Cradle of Humankind hosts the South African anchor gathering, ORIGIN extends far beyond one festival or one country.
Communities around the world are invited to participate through local gatherings and shared moments of connection.
Those unable to travel to South Africa can still become part of the wider movement through ORIGIN's global participation opportunities.
In this way, what begins at the Cradle becomes part of a much larger story — one of people gathering across borders to remember our shared humanity and our responsibility as caretakers of the Earth.
Come for the energy of Saturday's main festival, or immerse yourself in the entire journey from Friday through Sunday.
Whether you're coming for the music, the Elders, the conversations, the healing, the science, the children's experiences, the regenerative work — or simply because you feel called to gather — there is a place for you at Our Origin.
